FRC team 525 the Swartdogs ended 2018 by running events for local FIRST teams.

On December 1st, we ran the annual Cedar Falls FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Regional Qualifier for the 11th year.  525 team members joined together to make the event a fun-filled day by serving as queuers, hallway assistants, concession stand helpers, and practice table monitors.  We also created good luck signs to encourage every FLL team. Our team and local FTC teams demonstrated our robots to introduce FLL members to FIRST opportunities after they graduate from FLL.  We ended the day with a presentation talking about FRC and demonstrating our robot.  The kids especially enjoyed seeing how many cubes our robot could stack.

Later in December, we ran 2 FLL Jr. Expos for a total of 15 teams.  We served as ambassadors for the teams, leading them to their reviewer rooms and introducing them to other FIRST programs.  This event was held in conjunction with a FTC League Meet, allowing FLL Jr. members to be introduced to FTC.  We also sold concessions for the FTC League Meet and FLL Jr. Expo as a fundraiser for our upcoming regional trip.

As we ended 2018, we were excited for the release of the new 2019 game DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE!
