Had a great time at the Iowa FLL Championship! Although code for Captain Pike was a little difficult when we first pulled him out to demo. Getting drive practice in for students who are considering drive team. How do you all pick your drive team? We let the students practice with older robots, then take a test on the game, then we try out different groups of students who took the test and see what works the best. We have so many new students interested in drive this year! How will we ever decide?
Getting CADing done on the robot so that we can build.
Brought the FTC team in to test out their new grabber! It’s looking good guys! Good luck at Ottumwa next week! Newest addition to the robot – preset arm heights, and individual weight measuring tools for the rings. Headed to state in February.
Still working on getting the app uploaded. Cross your fingers for us!
Working on revising our Business Plan! Isn’t it great to see students taking initiative?
More on the FLL Championship… One of our newest mentors was MCing! Did you see him? He claims his involvement in FIRST is due to his marriage into a FIRST family. But he sure doesn’t mind! Three alums were there helping out, two were refereeing. Many of our alumni like to stay involved and continue to volunteer with FIRST even after they are too old for an FRC team. We also had four students and two mentors there demonstrating and talking about FRC.
Good luck teams!
