Filming transitional pieces for the chairman’s video today… still not sure if we’ll have time for them or not. Three minutes just isn’t enough time to get all the information in! But we’ll sure try. First time we’ve gotten to work this early on Chairman’s too! We’re just on the ball this year, or should we say, we’re on the Frisbee? Rewording any pieces so that we don’t always have to use the words presentation or demonstration every few sentences.
Jared cut his finger after using the milling machine on the piece he just finished. Ouch! But we got him fixed up with a wonderful band aid and a smiley face sticker! He’s a little accident prone but we take care of him. Yay for more first aid information in the safety manual.
Assembling the hopper today.
Getting measurements of the shooter we modified last night to make it accurate and up to date with what our robot is like.
Lucky of us we have a very artistic new freshman this year! Elizabeth is continuing to update pieces and paint our number along with the appropriate pin-stripping. Along with the battery kart which she is finishing, she will also be doing our drivers’ station. It surprisingly takes more time than one would think to get things painted how we like. Black, white, and orange are nice colors but covering up black isn’t always the easiest…
We’re learning Mathcad! It’s the world’s greatest scratch pad! Really! Srinu typed in an equation in meters but needed to change it to feet, and it did made the conversion automatically when he changed the unit! Holy cow! As Tyler, a mentor said, ‘I need this for work! I’m going to nerd out on that so hard!”
Good luck teams! Stay safe!
